Since I disappeared for so long and have been out of the loop for quite some time, I don’t have a clue what new releases are coming out and what books I should be excited about! I have a few books on my TBR that I’ve been dying to read since forever and which I desperately need to read before the end of the year looms any closer ♡
We are officially in the middle of the year and soon we’ll all be sitting in front of the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols, but before that happens there are five books that I desperately want to read! I know that 2019 might still be very far for some people, but with my hectic schedule I really don’t have any idea when I’ll be able to realistically read these books. These five books are all books I’m really excited about and I really hope I can get to them all before the end of the year ♡
♡ From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon — I absolutely adored When Dimple Met Rishi so when I learned that Menon was releasing a new book with the same style of kickass female character I knew I had to add it to my TBR instantly! From Twinkle, With Love follows the story of Twinkle an aspiring filmmaker and wallflower that has stories that she wants to tell the world. This sounds like it will be just as adorable as When Dimple Met Rishi and I honestly can’t ask for more.
♡ Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka — So you all know I’m an absolute sucker for books with intriguing synopses and Always Never Yours just sounds too good to pass up! This book follows the story of Megan Harper; the girl before. All her exes find their one true love right after dating her. It’s not a curse or anything, it’s just the way things are. I mean this sounds so good, throw in a love story and some theater nerdiness and I am hooked.
♡ Love & Other Carnivorous Plants by Florence Gonsalves — I love books that cover diverse topics as well as mental illness and Love & Other Carnivorous Plants touches on both! One by one, Danny is losing all the underpinnings of her identity. When she finds herself attracted to an older, edgy girl who she met in rehab for an eating disorder, she finally feels like she might be finding a new sense of self. This sounds like it can be a very interesting book if the diversity is handled correctly, I am really looking forward to seeing if that is the case.
♡ The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde — I have been waiting to read this book since forever! Jen Wilde’s debut novel, Queens of Geek, was my absolute favourite contemporary novel of last year and when I found out that Wilde was releasing a second book I actually squealed. The Brightsiders is the story about a teenage drummer that has to deal with family struggles, the paparazzi and coming out as bisexual, since this is another #ownvoice novel I have zero doubts that The Brightsiders will be nothing short from amazing!
♡ Legendary by Stephanie Garber — Although Caraval wasn’t my favourite read of last year and I expected lots more magic from it, I am still really intrigued to read Legendary. I’m excited to see what Garber has planned for Scarlett and Donatella and I’m really hoping for more magic, mystery and romance in this second installment.
