My 5 Favourite Fictional Moms for Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

In celebration of Mother’s Day I thought I’d share some of my favourite fictional mothers. We all love positive family dynamics in books and these are some of the best moms out there

Favourite Fictional Mom's (2)

Maura Sargent & The Other Psychics from The Raven Boys — Blue’s mom, Maura, was such a great mom. She was so supportive of Blue and she was a constant part of her life. Not only was Maura a good mom, but all the other psychics were good motherly figures for Blue as well.

Mia’s Mom (Kat) from If I Stay — Although Mia’s mom passed away quite early in the novel we get to know her through Mia’s flashbacks. Mia’s mom was her best friend and she was just such a cool mom that was also totally involved in everything that Mia did.

Hazel’s Mom (Frankie) from The Fault In Our Stars — Hazel’s mom was such a loving and caring mother. She looks after Hazel during her treatment and she makes it so that Hazel and Augustus can go to Amsterdam.

Molly and Cassie’s Moms in The Upside of Unrequited — In The Upside of Unrequited Molly and Cassie have two amazing moms. Both moms are so supportive and they are so interested and invested in the girls lives and it was fantastic to see that and read about it.

Mrs. Weasley from The Harry Potter Series — Mrs. Weasley is probably the best mom in all of YA fiction. She’s loving, caring and comforting and she’s a mother and nurturer to everyone in the book. I love how she always fed everyone and made those jerseys for Harry every single Christmas.

Do you agree with the moms I’ve chosen? Who are some of your favourite fictional moms? Let me know in the comments!

  1. My favorite fictional moms are Eleni Cooper from Tamora Pierce’s Tortall universe and Grandma Sylvia Redbird from House of Night series. I like Mrs. Weasley too 🙂

  2. I love Mrs. Weasley so much, I also love how in Goblet of Fire we see another side of her where she doesn’t really like Hermione because she thinks she’s dumped Harry. Mrs. Weasley just makes me happy thinking of her, she takes in everyone with love bless her.
