Short Stories from Hogwarts is a set of three short stories from J.K. Rowling and Pottermore. These stories give us some insight and background into various characters from the wizarding world as well as extra information about Hogwarts itself.
This was my second favourite story of the collection as it featured some of my favourite characters from the series – McGonagall & Remus Lupin. I loved learning more about both these characters from their childhood until now. They both had such sad backstories and I really felt for them.
We also get to learn a little bit about Trelawney and Kettleburn; the previous Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Overall I thought this was a very cute and enjoyable short story.
After all you don’t have to be a sword-wielding Gryffindor to be a hero; sometimes, all it takes is having your heart in the right place.

This was all about the villains from Hogwarts, including Umbridge & Quirell. I loved learning about what ultimately happened to Umbridge as well as how Quirell turned evil.
Also included is some information on Slughorn (who turns out not to be as bad as I thought) as well as the wizarding prison Azkaban and the infamous school poltergeist, Peeves. My favourite part of this story would have to be the list of all the Minsters for Magic and how they died/left the office.

This was my favourite out of the three stories as we get to explore my favourite place on Earth – Hogwarts! This novella just really went into depth about every single interesting aspect of Hogwarts and it really had me feeling kind of nostalgic.
When writing fantasy novels, one must be careful what one invents. For every benefit, there is usually a drawback.
It includes history and stories about the Pensieve, The Mirror of Erised, Platform 9 and 3/4, The Maurader’s Map and we even get a glimpse into the Hufflepuff common room. I really loved Rowlings notes at the end telling us how she came up with each specific idea and what it meant to her.

I really loved these three short stories, they were so informative and nostalgic. Would definitely recommend for lovers of Harry Potter and the wizarding world.
